Heart Strings

So I stumbled across a concept described as the “red string of fate” in this blog.  It struck a cord with me, good or bad.

Red Thread theory

Have you ever felt connected to someone and you couldn’t explain why?

The “red string of fate” is a folktale that believes those who are meant to connect in life are connected by an invisible red thread.  Have you ever met someone that you were inexplicably drawn to?  As children it’s easier to believe in things we can’t see, it’s part of the magic of childhood.  As adults we are more resistant to things that make no logical sense or can’t be “proven” but let’s admit it, there are some things that we just can’t explain.  Sometimes we just “click” with someone.  It’s like “where have you been all my life?” or “I feel like I must have known you in a past life.”

The theory falls on the opposite end of another concept I’ve heard of called a “soul tie”.  On this end of the spectrum it is not that the individuals are, or were, destined to meet but that something has taken place between the two that knits their souls together drawing them to one another.

Hmmmmm.  Do you believe either of these? some form of these ideas?

  1. What an interesting concept. I’ve never heard of this before, but I do agree there are people that we are just naturally drawn to and want to get to know, or feel we’ve always known them. Unique thought and post.
